Production Blog
For the music in the film, Hayley and I wanted to us the song "Hayloft" by Mother Mother. However, we soon realized that this would be tricky due to copyright. Emailing the producers would also take a long time and would probably not be done in time. So, we looked up uncopyrighted music we could possibly use. The first thing that popped up was premiumbeat.com. This gave us several options that we could possibly use for the project. In the beginning, we looked at music under the thriller section. However, this music did not really fit the idea we had for the film. Like Mother Mother, we wanted a song that was more on the heavy metal side. Finally, we found this genre on the website and began to listen to snippets of music. Each was very different and some we automatically knew we did not like. For about five minutes we went through several songs. I began to save the ones I liked as well. In order to do this, I did have to make an account on the website. To do this, I placed my email and gave a password. But, getting music was worth it. This website automatically allowed me to download and play on my computer through Apple Music. In the end the song we chose was "Far and Close" by Arthur Basov. This song was the perfect representation and had a great build up to the drop. These were both major factors we were looking for in a song.
