Reflection

Over the course of this project, I learned and used technology in the way I have never done before. I used several editing platforms such as iMovie, Capcut, and Film Editor, for example. I also had to learn to insert images and videos into my commercial. Which took longer than expected because of how indecisive I can be. I also had to use technology to insert the videos I wanted. As well as place them at the correct time, speed, and order I wanted them to go in. Along with this, I had to figure out several complicated things. This includes how to insert music into my video. Which, through figuring this out, I learned how to insert videos over my commercial with sound through screen recording the video off of YouTube. But, unfortunately that did not make the Final Cut.      This project also taught me what the process and effort of making a commercial or film is like. Although, I did not have the stress of filming or writing a script. Instead, I learned how to condense my content a

After editing this video for the past two weeks, I began to start making some final tweaks. Since this is my first project, I wanted to make sure it represented who I was and give me a good kick off for the rest of the year. I have also been working on this assignment since almost the beginning of school. So there was a lot of work and effort put into this assignment. I learned a lot of new skills and tricks throughout this process. To start, I began to rewatch the video repeatedly. This way I could see any issues and fix it before submitting.  This process turned out to be a good thing. Due to a lot of small things that needed tweaking. For example, some pictures for the music did not fit. So, I needed to adjust when and where the music needed to be played. This video also turned out to be a little shorter than the requirement. But, I figured if I made each of the videos a little longer, it would eventually make the video 30 seconds long. After this, I began to review the rubric giv

Editing on Instagram got me further than most of the well known video editing apps. This is because I was familiar with the editing. I also did not have to pay to do a lot of the actions I wanted to do. Unlike what apps such as iMovie and Cap cut were making me do. In my opinion, adding the music was the easiest pat of using Instagram to edit. When doing it, there was a small music note at the top and when clicked, I got to add whichever song I wanted. I also got to choose what part of the song I wanted the video to show. I . decided to put the ending of the song when it begins to fade out due to two reasons. One: this part was appropriate for school. Meaning that there were no curse words or inappropriate sining but just Mac Miller vocalizing in the back. Two: it fit the vibe I wanted the video to have. By this I mean, it was upbeat and cheery rather than slow and dark. One of the trickiest parts about this process was putting the pictures at a correct time limit so it would change pi

Finally, after continuously trying to pursue three different editing apps, I had an idea. I was reminded of the times I used to post videos on social media and instantly thought of Instagram. When editing on this platform, such as stories, posts, and reels, putting music over the final result was simple and self explanatory. So, I went to Instagram, went to the "add post" button and began to work. Of course, I had no intention on posting this video to my social media, but I figured that I knew how to work everything and it gave all the resources that an average editing app would have. To begin, I chose all the pictures and videos I had saved in my albums. Then, I decided what order I wanted them to be in. This is because the past three apps I used, I had a specific order. However, it did not look correct to me and I wanted to switch it up. My original plan was to put one video in the beginning of the video and one at the end. Through further discovery in my camera roll

While making this project, I faced and am still facing several setbacks and issues. However, I am learning how to solve them quicker and quicker. To begin with, I decided to use the editing platform, iMovie. This is because like any kid I used to make movies on my iPad with this platform and I knew how to use it efficiently. So, I started to decide what order I wanted all of my videos and photos to be in and how long I wanted them to be shown. This process was also when I started to realize that some pictures were not suited properly for the direction I wanted to take my commercial in. This is because separately these pictures looked like they all matched and had the same feel to them. But when I put them all together, the color and vibe varied ever so often. So, I ended up deleting most of the pictures and one of the videos I did not like and begun scrolling through all of my pictures once again. Preferably, I wanted recent pictures, but during this process, I discovered

The process of preparing for this project, took me longer than expected. But I had a clear vision of what I wanted and stuck to the idea.  The first thing I decided on was that I wanted to make this film very upbeat and exciting because that is what my life is like outside of school. I wanted the pictures and videos to bring other people joy and share how good life can be. After this decision, I began to pick out the pictures and videos I was going to put in my film. To start this process, I put all of the photos correlated with my favorite memories into an album labeled, "Commercial". This had a total of 21 pictures, all representing the past year. Which is when I realized I have barely any photos of just myself and that most pictures included my friends or family. In order to solve this, I decided to add the few pictures I have of myself in the beginning of the commercial, making it easier to tell which one was me in the other photos. Next, I looked through my videos

Get To Know Me!

Hi! My name is Reagan, and welcome to my blog, the place where I will be sharing my experiences, and everything that makes me, me. Recently, I have entered my junior year at Fort Lauderdale High School, and although I am not completely sure on what I want to do for the rest of my life, I have learned some things about myself.     For example, spending my free time in nature is something I have come to enjoy. My happy places include the beach and the mountains, while very different from each other, these two places are where I have created my most fondest memories.  From playing mermaids in the ocean during sunset, to gathering around a fluorescent fire with friends, the outdoors is for sure the root to most of my happiness. However, with these memorable moments also comes things that I am not so appreciative of: bugs. Given that I have spent all this time outside, I have had several run-ins with natures finest, mosquitos. Even with bug spray it seems that they never are pro
