Production Blog

Finally, after continuously trying to pursue three different editing apps, I had an idea. I was reminded of the times I used to post videos on social media and instantly thought of Instagram. When editing on this platform, such as stories, posts, and reels, putting music over the final result was simple and self explanatory. So, I went to Instagram, went to the "add post" button and began to work. Of course, I had no intention on posting this video to my social media, but I figured that I knew how to work everything and it gave all the resources that an average editing app would have. To begin, I chose all the pictures and videos I had saved in my albums. Then, I decided what order I wanted them to be in. This is because the past three apps I used, I had a specific order. However, it did not look correct to me and I wanted to switch it up. My original plan was to put one video in the beginning of the video and one at the end. Through further discovery in my camera roll however, I came across another video I love, one that would be perfect for the joyful vibe I was going for. This video consisted of me and my best friend in the pool deck randomly dancing. It was perfect. So, eventually I decided to add this video in the middle of the commercial and the result was impeccable. Since changing this, it made me realize how some of the pictures did not properly represent who I was or the things I loved to do. So, I once again, decided to change the pictures. After what felt like ages of going through all of my pictures, I finally felt content with the pictures in my commercial. I began to add the music and had the easiest time doing so. My main goal with the music was to have the pictures switch on beat. Although this did take me a while and I still am not complete with it, I believe that it is going to really tie the project together.
