Production Blog

In order to start filling, my partner and I had some things we needed to get in order first. To begin with, the costumes. Although there will only be two of us doing the acting, we must make more costumes for the other people we will be playing. This is so the audience would be able to decipher between who is who. This also helps the audience understand what is going on. For these outfits, we had to tap into the character and think about how they would dress. This could be based on the personality they show or the vision we have of them I our head. For example, for Jessica Kennedy, we are planning to have her wear a short skirt, a tank top, and more name brand clothing. The makeup she would be wearing has also been taken into account for her personality. Both Hayley and I believe she would be the type to wear a full face of makeup and have things such as mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss applied. For the main characters, Vivian an Hazel, they would have more of a natural look to them as well as wear more comfortable clothes that would not necessarily be "on trend". For example, it could be sweatpants and a baggy t-shirt, or just very basic clothing. When playing the male roles however, we plan to put our hair up or were hats/hoodies. This way it is clear that we are no longer feminine but more masculine. We would also wear baggier pants or longer shorts to show the character change. For the makeup for the guys, things such as fake mustaches and sideburns have also been taken into account. Finally, for the scenes that do call for more gory effects Hayley and I plan to use makeup, such as eyeshadow for bruises. I also have fake blood from Halloween, which can come in handy for a lot of the scenes. Overall, I believe makeup and costumes will really help show our vision. This will also hopefully tie our whole film together.
